Woody Candy Company is perhaps best known for its delicious brittles. Claude Woody, Sr. borrowed against his Hupmobile to buy some candy equipment, and he cooked his first batch of peanut brittle in a copper kettle in 1927. We are still making crunchy, thin, made-from-scratch brittles in open fire kettles using the original recipe that he perfected. His secret – lots of fresh peanuts, sourcing the finest ingredients, and stretching the warm candy as thin as possible– is not so secret anymore, as this Woody specialty has become one of our best-sellers in our Oklahoma City shop.
